SAFE CHLORINE INSTRUCTIONS

Fill spa through filter system if possible (this will help prevent an air lock). Bypass water softener unless water is really high in iron. As spa is filling, add 1 bottle of Metal Gon.

Once spa is full, turn the power on and adjust temperature level.

Once spa has reached 80 degrees or more, test and adjust total alkalinity. If low, add Alka-Rise and if high, add Ph Minus. Add 2 ounces at a time every 15-20 minutes until total alkalinity is between 80 and 120ppm. At this time, your Ph may be off, leave it alone for 48 hours and then adjust if needed. After two days, if Ph is low, add Ph Plus and if high, add Ph Minus. Level should be between 7.2 and 7.8.

Once alkalinity is set, add Chlor-Aid (chlorine) at a rate of 2-4 tablespoons every 20 minutes until test strip shows between 1 and 3ppm. Always remember to maintain a chlorine level of 1ppm or above.

For nice clean & clear water, follow the weekly schedule…

  • Mon: add ½ oz per 250 gallons of Spa Clear.
  • Wed: add 2 oz per 250 gallons of Prevent II
  • Fri: add 2-4 oz per 250 gallons of Shock (cover open, jets on high, & run 15-30 minutes)

DAILY: ALWAYS MAINTAIN A CHLORINE LEVEL (APPROXIMATELY 1 TABLESPOON PER PERSON, PER USE) AFTER EACH USE

If spa gets foamy, add a small amount of Defoamer. Foam is an indicator of laundry detergent in your spa. Don’t wash your bathing suits in laundry detergent, instead when you are finished with spa, rinse them in water and hang dry.

FILTER CLEANING: Remove filter cartridge at least once a month, spray off well with a high-pressure hose with nozzle. Soak filter in Cartridge Cleaner every 3 months when changing water in spa. Replace cartridge once a year or sooner if needed.
